I'm having problems with getting any signal on my new virgin media cable connection.

This is my first htpc and i've done a lot of reading on the prequitsites, i have installed the two hotfixes from MS for XP SP2, DVB and 1394. I've also installed the BDA decoder for the floppydtv device. I haven't got any cam installed.

heres a copy firedtv support tool;

so how would you recommend connecting the virgin box upto a tv card, as I already got a FloppyDTV and Pinnacle Dual DVB-T card. Do i need another card?

    S-VHS\possibly coaxial input (hopefully on one of your existing cards) but the downside to this is you can only watch whichever channel the STB is tuned into, Sky also has this limitation, Freesat\DVB-T has not.

    Even doing a search on the internet for this does not really give much information, but would recommend getting it to work with manufacturer of cards software, prior to setting up with MP.

    This is from the MythTV forum, which confirms that there is no legal way of getting DVB-C direct input just from the cable.
