I no longer have any sound, except when playing a WMA stream.

I recently update to W7 and did a new install of MP 1.1.3. Everything worked really well until ... I played a WMA stream using the RadioTime plugin. Since then I cannot get any sound (music, tv, video, radio), except if it is WMA. This is only true inside MP, other programs do play sound as usual.

Logs are attached, but they don't seem to show anything wrong. Log simply shows starting and stopping an .mp3 file.

    Where do I start looking?

In windows 7 volume is controlled on an application by application basis. Open up MP in windowed mode then go to the mixer in the task bar. My hunch is that you will see that MediaPortal is muted

Thanks for the tip. That's something to remember. But in my case WMA streams played fine any other codec did not.

It's fixed. I was preparing to re-install MP, when windows update showed up SP1. I installed that first and somehow that fixed it (yes I had tried re-starting before).

Now the million dollar questions is; would it happen again when I play a WMA stream? Since I would not have the time to fix it again any time soon, I'm not going to try right now.

Have to thank you again indeed.

Ran into another problem with sound. This time no sound for TV and recorded TV, movies and Music where fine. As you suggested sound was at 0 volume for Media Portal-TV. Would never have found that without your suggestion.

Do not know how that happened. Is it possible to make this impossible from re-occurring, something like 'disable volume per application'?
