TV-Server Version: 1.0
MediaPortal Version: 1.0
MediaPortal Skin: Beazle Wide
Windows Version: XP Pro
CPU Type: Core 2 Duo E6300
HDD: 250gb and 500gb
Memory: 2gb DDR2-800
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-965p-S3
Video Card: 8800gt 512mb
Video Card Driver: Latest
Sound Card: Audigy 2 ZS
Sound Card AC3: Yes?
Sound Card Driver: Latest
1. TV Card: Hauppauge H2200
1. TV Card Type: DVBT
1. TV Card Driver: Latest
MPEG2 Video Codec: PowerDVD 8
MPEG2 Audio Codec: AC3 Filter
h.264 Video Codec: PowerDVD 8

So ever since upgraded to Mediaportal 1.0, I've had no sound on TV. Sound in windows is fine and I can hear those 'tings' when selecting different items in the menu, but for every TV channel, there is no sound.

I don't think its a codec issue because on a channel which has both an AAC and a AC3 stream, neither of them work. Could be though.

Any ideas?

Simply try using the MPA Audio Codec. If you get audio, then it's a codec problem, if not we can work from there.

Also to rule out codec problems, switch the TV Service to MPEG container, and play any recording with your favorite video player (other than Media Portal). Or keep the TS container and use AviDemux to play any existing recording. If you get audio, then good, the problem is on the client side; if not then something is wrong on the TV Service side.

I probably should have updated the thread. It started to work randomly a while ago... Not sure why.

Anyway it's all good now. Thanks :D

When I was using PDVD7 for TV audio codec it would often take a long time (sometimes minutes) to start playing the sound after changing channel, then the picture would pause while the sound "caught up". I'm using MPA now and never get a problem. Perhaps there's something odd about the PDVD7 audio codec and playing ts.
