Hi,
Using cinergy 400 and mediaportal 0.2, i want to record my old vhs tapes into the pc. The sound does not get recorded, sadly. So seeking help here. Here is what i do:
I connect the video to the cinergy 400 by a composite cable and the audio via an audio cable to the input jack on my soundblaster live card.
In 'mediaportal setup' I have setup a channel called "composite" with channel number: 250001,
tv standard: Pal B,
type: "received by external settop box,
input via: CVBS#1

In 'mediaportal setup' under 'audio mapping' for the capture card property, it says the CVBS#1 maps to audio-in#1

With this setup, the video stream shows perfectly in mediaportal. The audio comes out of my speakers, but is not synchronised with the video seen in mediaportal.
The audio is not recorded in the recorded file!
I tried furthermore to connect the audio to 'audio-in' line on the cinergy card but then i did not hear any audio in the speakers and neither did any audio get recorded in the file.

Anyone has an idea about how to set it up?

Btw, I have a small cable that came with the card. It has a green jack and a blue jack. Should i use this cable?

If you record TV do you get sound? I never tried what you do but I had no sound from my recorded TV shows. I discovered that I had to change movie decoder. (I think it is: Setup -> Movies -> Player). The sound was there but MP didn't play it...

Have you tried to play your recordings on another machine with another program (e.g. Media Player Classic).

Just some thoughts

Yep, tried playing it with different players after converting the dvr-ms to mpeg using videoredo. The only audio to be heard was some occational noise.

The audio works perfectly with normal tv recordings on my hauppauge 150 mce. Have been using mediaportal for recording tv a long time..

This is first time i am using the cinergy 400. It was only when i upgraded to mediaportal 0.2 that i discovered that the cinergy 400 could now work.
