Hi,

i am running RC3 with WinXP Pro and a "HAUPPAUGE WinTV ToGO" PCI Card.

The card works, cause i can use other TV Software to see tv, but MediaPortal tells me that i dont have a running card...

What shall i do ?

Does Mediaporal prefer some cards ?

Same problem with TV Capture Card

Hi, I use the RC3 and install fine and appears to work, but when I try to configure the TV Capture Card is tell me the same as AndiF say. That is NOT card installed. I use the one with the SAA7130 chip from Philips. Other software works and see the card. The original software that comes with this card is the Honestech TVR software.

I really like the MP but dont know why now dont see my card, in the version RC2 see the card.

Can you confirm that your card is a software TV card? What brand is it?

I'm pretty sure its a software TV card, which MP does not support anymore as said in the above post. Support has only been dropped recently due to technical difficulties, hence why it used to work. MP currently only supports DVB cards, and analog cards with a hardware decoder.

Software cards are being added again though but you need to have specific support added for them (just like hardware cards need). So you have to look in one of the stickys in this hardware support forum.

    Hi all,

it´s a "Haupauge WinTV Go". Software MPEG enc. PCI-Card.

But if i read up there: "software cards will be supportet again" i am hoping in final 0.2 it will work... *hoping*

even if these cards "lag" a bit while recording... but not anybody can buy those fully featured hardware-mpg cards...

Support for software card is removed, but you have options.
If your card does not work/listed in MP, take a look here: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/viewtopic.php?t=12846
To get your card supported you should follow the link ronilse posted. The devs need your help to add support for your card.

    No TV Card installed

Hi, well here is the info of my card.

Appears by 2 brands but I think is for the use the same chip (SAA7130) but with both brands are the same card in all.

ITV-300 / PCI TV Tuner SAA7130 by Itemstech and here is the link of the page if you want to check the info and specf.
    www.itemstech.com.tw/product/PC1/ITV-300/ITV-300 SAA7130.asp

The other brand is sabrent and the web page is http://www.sabrent.com/products/specs/TV-PCIRC.htm this one is exactly looks as the one I have (stikers and remote) and both cards have MPG2 hardware. Maybe this can help and someone can tell me is a work around or fix for this to work with the MP RC3.

Ok, there is a messagebox saying that there is no card installed. It should better say that there is no "supported" tv card installed!.

So if you want support for your card, please follow the instructions here:
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/viewtopic.php?t=12846.
You have to mail the informations concerning your tv card to dman_lfc. He will then add support for your card. Only the name or a website of the card doesn't help.

In my PC at work I have a very old WinTV card. I sent the infos to dman and the next day the support was added.
