No TV in MediaPortal..... (2 Viewers)

...reinstalled using mepo skin (as I originally had done BTW)...and now have channels for the 1st time!!

So I now have a starting point.....but have noticed that HD picture quality still not comparable to TV's internal Freeview HD.

Which leads me to codecs.....is there a 'correct' choice...or is it a case of 'suck it and see'??

.....Have realised that this is a daft question....finding much discussion on codecs.

Not entirely convinced tho' about cleaning off old codecs before installing new!

Hi,

The most popular codecs seem to be the Win7 DVD-Codec and a codec pack known as SAF 6 (see here for SAF 6 - you will need to PM Hoborg to unlock it)

If you use the SAF6 PDVD11 codecs you should ensure you have allowed the codec to use the GPU - see the codec settings in MP Config. The Win7 codecs don't seem to need any settings, they just work, and work well IMO.
