No TV picture - works in setup wizard though... (1 Viewer)

Hi there,

I have just purchased a Hauppage WinTV-HVR 1300 based on information I read on this forum and the list of supported cards. All the drivers have been installed (apart from the Hauppage software itself).

I downloaded the latest version of MP 0.2.0.0 and ran through the setup wizard.

At the moment, I am running some coax from my NTL set top box into my TV card. Now, when it scans for channels, it picks up the feed from the STB (both audio and video) fine...BUT...when I go into MyTV, I only get audio and no picture.

Does anyone have any ideas?

there are a lot of things here that need to be configured, and I'm not too sure how far you have gone, so here goes.

Are all the channels added into your TV configuration? Each channel has to exist on MP and be configured as "External".
You have to add the external inputs by using the button marked something like "Add CVBS".
You have to have some method of changing the STB using IR. MP can learn your existing codes from your STB remote and duplicate them.
Can you see regular FTA channels on MP? If so then this will rule out some sort of Codec issue.
You also have to map the inputs. IE Tell MP that video input 1 matches audio input 1 or whatever is the case in your set up.

There are a LOT of posts about setting these up, do a search and you should find a heap of help.

All i'm doing is taking an analogue feed from my STB, so I don't need IR control. I don't use the DVB side therefore I cannot confirm if I can see the FTA channels or not.

Incidentally, now if I try to use MP, I just get an error message which says "The Tuners Are Busy" - so now I cannot use it at all. However, the installed Hauppage software works a treat.

Maybe I should re-install MP and see what happens.

Start MediaPortal Setup.
Under “General” uncheck “Using Exclusive DirectX mode – avoids tearing”.
Click “OK”

BUT...when I go into MyTV, I only get audio and no picture.

With my PVR150 I had the same problem which was caused by using the Intervideo codec supplied by Hauppauge. I solved it by changing the TV codec to MPV.

Sorry , can't help with "Tuners Are Busy" problem.

Be sure that the hauppauge software isn´t running in the background while trying to use the card with mp.
