    Hi,

two weeks ago I made a fresh installation of MP1.1.0. Afterwards I had several problems with the TV reception. Scaning worked fine with the Twinhan card. TV reception was normally only possible after a fresh restart of the PC. Closing and reopening MP lead to the above mentioned errors.

Today I enabled both Cinergy cards without problems. After starting 2 recordings and stopping them afterwards, MP crahed (automatic PC reboot without prewarnings or bluescreen; no logs, sorry!). From this time onwards I was not able to start a TV service anymore. Scanning also doesn't work anymore (always "no signal"). To make sure that there in fact is a signal, I disabled the Cinergy cards again, installed DVB Dream and made a scan (on the Twinhan card). And voilá: Scan worked fine, TV reception is possible.

Logs of starting MP and trying to receive TV are attached.
    - start MP
    - start MyTV (service: German Pro7)
    - error message "unknown error"
    - try to start again; same error
    - try to change to German "Das Erste"
    - error message "No signal"
    - exit MP
(this time there was no "graph could't be started" message, but I've seen it lots of times before)

I've seen the PMT timeout thread. This seems to be something different. Nevertheless I disabled EPG grabbing and Preloading for all cards. No special plugin next to ShortCut'er is active.

    Any ideas?

    Best regards

    Henning

This does not necessarily have to be different to my problem I described in the thread you mentioned. At least you also got loads of those messages:
    2009-08-03 11:43:53.703125 [12]: WaitForPMT: Waiting for PMT.
2009-08-03 11:44:03.703125 [12]: WaitForPMT: Timed out waiting for PMT after 10 seconds. Increase the PMT timeout value?
Do the cinercy cars work again after you restart the TV service?

You might want to link your question to the other thread. Maybe the devs get some valuable information from your logs.

Maybe I have more than one problem here :D I think the rootcause of my problem is somewhere here:

I know that signal level and quality don't have to correlate. I measured a C/N between 9 and 12dB. This is not the best, but also not so bad as far as I know. Further on, DVB Dream shows a reception level of 30-50%. Why is this different within the MediaPortal?

    Best regards

BTW: How can I link my threat without repeating everything to another thread?
BTW2: Is it possible to modify the logging in a way that ": S" never appears without space? Otherwise I have lots of  in the logfiles

It gets more and ore strange. First I deeply checked my Sat installation, exchanged some cables etc. Afterwards I saw in the logfiles a 40-50% reception level, but still got the error messages mentioned above ("unknown error"). So I reinstalled the TV Server completely and deleted the database. The result of a new scan is, that I get only "no signal" messages for all transponders (although I in principle know which DiSEqC setting is correct I checked none, AA and AB).

The messages in the logfile seem to be consistent to what the TV Server config reports me. But I KNOW that I have signal level and quality. Crosschecking with DVBDream always shows me decoded picture  May anyone please help me?

    Henning

P.S. 1.0.x versions used to work fine!!
