I'm having a problem when I try to view a couple of channels from the MP TV screens, and the preview screen in TV config. In MP, the popup says No video/audio detected. Although the channel scan detects good signal and quality on scan. Also, the tuner software (HDHomerun), shows the missing channel with no problem. For reference I am attaching logs, and the channel I tried to tune is WTTW-HD
Oddly, I was having the same issue on a different channel, but it went away and started displaying the channel without issue. After it first discovered the channel, the station tunes reliably every time. I really don't have an idea what made the issue go away in that case.

    mm,
Thanks for the quick response. I am sorry to report that the ASTC setting did not work. Actually things got worse, even channels that earlier appeared, now indicate "Preview failed:NoPmtFound" and within MP, the error was "Program/Channel not found"
Btw, since the HDHomerun tuners are network devices there are allow the media portal program settings thru the firewall, I have enabled all of those, for both public and private networks. I also disabled my MS Windows firewall as I checked things out. I did gather the logfiles. To assist with any review here is the sequence I followed.

Changed one tuner from generic to atsc setting in tv config
disabled the other 3 tuners in tv config
ran a fresh channel scan from the HDHomerun tool
ran a fresh scan from the tv config
(this was odd because as the scan detected signals, the log indicated "Nothing found", while for the truly missing signals it indicated
    no signal)
(this was when it occurred to me to disable the firewall, so I did that and)
ran a fresh scan from the tv config
tried a preview on a channel which earlier worked and received "Preview failed:NoPmtFound"
tried to view a channel that earlier worked in MP and received "Program/Channel not found"

I'll attach the logs but I feel they could be more of a distraction. The earlier log could be more helpful.
As a point of reference, I didn't see this issue in MP 1.2.2 or 1.2.3, only in 1.3a

    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Tony

    Hello again

    Hmmm. :(

Btw, since the HDHomerun tuners are network devices there are allow the media portal program settings thru the firewall, I have enabled all of those, for both public and private networks. I also disabled my MS Windows firewall as I checked things out.
One thing that I think was noted in the other threads somewhere is that if you have a firewall enabled, you need to also add exceptions for SetupTv.exe. I have heard that it sometimes helps to completely remove and re-add the exceptions.

The NoPmtFound and "program/channel not found" indicate the same problem - they mean that TV Server has been unable to determine which streams carry the video and audio data. This information is usually carried in a so-called PMT - short for program map table.

The "nothing found" messages in the scan *may* be a reflection of the same problem - they mean that the tuner locked onto signal but didn't find any TV or radio channels in the stream. This is semi-normal: sometimes a stream may only carry data or other random services that TV Server ignores.

In this case, the reasons for PMT-not-found errors are most likely to include:
    1. A firewall blocking the data.
    2. The HDHomeRun not sending the data.

To avoid the first situation, I would disable all firewalls while testing.
Somewhere in HDHR setup or config there is an application setting. Please be sure you have set that to "MediaPortal" to avoid the second situation.

    mm.
Thanks again for the quick response & your sugestions. I'm on to something, but I'll respond to the suggestions first. I did have all the all the media programs as allowed through the firewall including the setuptv, and I also had the MS firewall turned off during my testing. Adding and re-adding the programs is something I hadn't tried, I can give that a shot. I'll also double check the Media program in the HDHomerun setup. But I'm doubtful that any of that is going to help. As I can view other channels, so it seems like the connectivity angle would not have significance.
Now, on to what I found. I went back to my working 1.2.3 configuration and reviewed the add/edit channels under the channel item in the TVSetup tool. The values are different than from 1.3a. I didn't gather the specifics as I stayed up far too late researching all of this as it was. Although, I did my best to edit the channel and match up the settings. I duplicated all the settings but it went south when I tried to save them, SetupTV complained that it did not like the "-1" in the frequency setting. I set it to a random setting and it would not save that as well. So I added a new channel, first with the "-1" frequency (wouldn't save), and later a random number, which it would save. So I set out to find a proper frequency, that's where I ran out of gas. I'm doutful that I'll find much time to look atr this over the weekend. When I find the time I'll scour the forum for frequency tips. The specific channel is OTA WTTW-HD 11.1 from Chicago. I'll be checking the forum here for suggestions. Thanks for any ideas.

Some followup. I tried removing and re-adding my exceptions for the firewall allow program settings. Some of the options Windows just would not let me uncheck, kind of kooky. I unchecked and re-added what I could, and re-ran my scan. It found two of the channels that were previously missed, but then dropped one formerly found. After several scans and firewall settings I gave up in frustration and wiped out the whole shebang and uninstalled MP and re-installed from scratch. The next scan picked up all my channels, so I'm in good shape. I also saw that in 1.3b mm135200 has fixed the issue where setup does not allow the -1 frequency as I indicated in my earlier post. That will be a big help I think when scan problems arise, thanks a ton mm! You guys are actually my personal heroes. I will be patiently waiting for 1.3b.
