hi all

mediaportal is the best media center iv come across in fact WOW! love it

ok iv been messin with it for a couple of days i use the BleazleWide V7 skin and for now i just want to go strait to the movies film strip and managed to do that in config ( show last active module when starting ) cool

so iv been downloading the movie info and cover art (also very cool) had to change some covers my self but all done now
and looking great so my first question is how do i back things up ' my config settings and cover art etc ' would not like to do it all again if something happened and had to reinstall

ok that was the easy question now then when in filmstrip i want to make it as basic as i can
meaning is there a way i can somehow disable the menu part altogether when i goto the left side of the screen ??

For backing up your MediaPortal Settings see this.

There is no implemented way to disable the menu. You would have to modify the skins xml files yourself to achieve this.

ok another one for you when i sreach for the info and cover art and mp (or i think imdb with aka ) dose not find the movie it then dose not list that film in the config database so i can not put my own cover with that film

also another total noob question lets say i have a box set of films eg saw and iv got them all in one folder on the filmstrip it seems to show the cover art of the first film in that folder and i cant seem to change that to like a cover with boxset on ?

You can do a reduced search eg don't enter "the fantastic tales of character xyz" but rather "xyz" or "fantastic tales". You are more likely to get hits this way. Alternatively you might just enter your own movie information and coverart in "Configuration -> Movies -> Video Database -> Editor". Select "New..." from the pulldown menu (it's located on the bottom of the pulldown menu).

This is kind of a frequent issue. It's not possible out of the box. You could create your own cover art and replace the first coverart of your "boxed collection" with it.
