Noob needs advice-Streaming MediaPortal (1 Viewer)

i have installed mediaportal on my pc and configured it but when i go to my wdtv live (i have not tried the ps3 yet) in network shares i do not see it nor is it listed in the media server section. what am i doing wrong. all i want to do is stream my movies with movie info and fanart. could it be that mediaportal like xbmc needs to be on a dedicated htpc connected direct to my tv? if this not the case could someone give me some pointer or point to a site that i could read about it, i read the wiki and i could not find anything but, i could have over looked it.

Network: Wired/Wireless 100mbps
Dlna Devices: PS 3 160gb version 3.56, WD TV LIVE HD
TV: Vizio SV472XVT 47” HD
Bose V25 HTS
ISP: att.net xtreme 5.5 average download speed

Hi there,

Direct connection (hdmi, dvi, VGA, etc) only, it does not support streaming to extenders or network players
