Help !

Just installed the latest stable MP release, but cannot get the MyTV to work.

During Initial Install, no TV config options were presented (other than the EPG page).
MyTV says no capture card installed.
Looking in config screens no TV cards listed in drop downs.
Started Hauppuage TV app and it works fine.
Start config whilst Hauppuage TV app running - get to pick Hauppuage as TV source
go into MyTV - still says no tuner card
Stop Hauppuage TV app (thinking it may have locked access) and restart MP
go into MyTV - still says no tuner card
Shutdown/Restart
go into MyTV - still says no tuner card
go into config - shows Hauppuage as TV source

Anyone any ideas what to try next ??

i use xmlmarker for viewing and editing this kind of file (it's free) and makes searching for a particular card definition easy to edit.

Capturecards definitions are in the mediaportal folder found at

    c\programs\teammediaportal\mediaportal

    Good Luck

Well I can now see and select the USB stick in the setup wizard, but as soon as I select the DVB region (UK- All regions or any other in fact) MP crashes.

Any ideas as to why ?

Make sure no Hauppauge services are running, and you have rebooted, personally do not even install the software, just the drivers.

If above does not help, after running scan and MP crashes, can you post the mediaportal log (found in mediaportal\log) as a attachment so we can see what is happening.

    Thanks

    Update.

Managed to search for channels through the setup utlitity (not the serup wizard within MP itself which crashed during the search).

Found 54 TV stations and listed them so I guss the basic interface to the tuner is working.

BUT... When went into My TV (with TV autostart enabled) the app just crashed.

    Update.

I can now get TV by not using the Hauppauge TV and Video codec, but using the Intervideo one (presumably installed with the DVD player software I use.

However the picture which is very smooth within the Hauppage app is very jerky within MP - I dont understand why one app would be OK and the other so jerky - unless the CPU overhead from MP idling whilst playing TV is huge ?
