Hi,
I have a medion 8808 with a SAA7131-TV board supporting 2X analog/DVB-T and DVB-S. When setting up MP, the program doesn't receive any signal. It want to use the analog cable, not DVB-T or DVB-S. What do I have to do to make this work, or is this card not supported, although the setup found this:
Medion CTX 944 Quad TV#1 (DVB-T)
Medion CTX 944 Quad TV#1 (Analogue)
Medion CTX 944 Quad TV#2 (DVB-T)
Medion CTX 944 Quad TV#2 (Analogue)
I'm using the SAA7131 driver 1.3.3.1
Are there other things I should install (windows Media player 10...)?

Thanks
Regards
Wim

Hi,
When I launch MP for the first time, the setup shows a wizard where MP can 'scan' for channels. I select the country and "cable" press scan but nothing happens, very slowly the system is searching but doesn't find anything. I tried your trick, MP setup\television\capture card\Medion CTX 944 Quad TV#1 (Analogue)\edit but when I select an analog card I get an error "unable to create graph for this device", although when I select another (dvb-t) I do not get that error. Is it possible the analog part of this card isn't compatible with MP? What does this error message mean? Can you help me?

regards
Wim

Synopsis::

http://mp.pastebin.com/692801

Problem:
During the setup when scanning for new TV-channels nothing is found. Although it seems like my TV-Card is recognised by the system.
Medion CTX 944 Quad TV#1 (DVB-T)
Medion CTX 944 Quad TV#1 (Analogue)
Medion CTX 944 Quad TV#2 (DVB-T)
Medion CTX 944 Quad TV#2 (Analogue)
When I do this : MP setup\television\capture card\Medion CTX 944 Quad TV#1 (Analogue)\edit I get an error message: "unable to create graph for this device", I cannot see the tab: "autotune" in the next screen.
When I do this for the DVB-T part everything works fine, no error message also the "autotune" tab is visible, but DVB-T isn't available at my home so it's useless.

So if you go into MP setup\television\capture card\Medion CTX 944 Quad TV#1 (DVB-T)\edit and try and autotune from there, nothing happens.
or it just does not find channels.
Also can you use the support template to give a bigger picture found here

Thanks

Hi,

Is there a special thread in this forum where I can post my support-template? It is not specified in this thread

Thanks

    Hi,

The analog part is a S/W type card and needs an MPEG2 software encoder installed, preferrably from Intervideo (e.g. WinDVR) or Cyberlink. Make sure you don't set encoding quality and resolution for encoding too high to start off with - you can always try to increase afterwards.

BTW, just post your support template on every support request you make.

    Kind regards,
    Michel

    Hi Michel,

so this error means something is wrong with the MPEG2 decoder? Strange, because I have all kinds of codecs installed on my system. Also Powercinema 4.0 is installed with its MPEG2 codecs. I also installed the Dscler codec, as suggested during the setup-part of MP. What can I do next? Did you also look at my log. There are some errors, maybe it helps?

    Thanks
    WIm

    Hi,
yesterday I installed the intervideo windvr software with the encoder, but the problem remains :-( Although windvr seems to work a little bit better than MP. With windvr I can already receive TV-channels but the sound doesn't work. I guess windvr dos not support sound over the PCI-bus. Any other idea's suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Wim

Is there absolutly nobody in the world using the CTX944 TV-card with Philips SA7131 chipset? While cyberspace is flooding with aldi-pc's (medion 8800/8808) with its terrible powercinema 4.0-software ;-)
Anyway... still anxiously waiting for an answer, anybody?
