Could you turn on Debug logging from the MediaPortal configuration screen so that we can get a bit more information in your logs? Without debug logging on there is very little information to go on. Once you get debug logging turned on, if you could try to reproduce the problem and repost I will see what I can do to help.

maybe setting loglevel to debug might pinpoint the difference between normal and stuck?
Preferable with as much disabled as possible
also try to see if anything is happening during stuck for the mediaportal process(resource monitor, disk activity, cpu usage, anything)
maybe other programs competing for resouces?
