Ok, so i got a ati theater 550 pro from MSI , the included software was CyberLink PowerCinema i get all my channels there , but i was installing media portal, and during install it scans for channels but it dosent show ne in the preview little black box, so i kept goin finished set up. now it dosent show ne channels, and it dosent show a tv guide either, why cant i see video on media portal yet i can on CyberLink PowerCinema i really wanna switch to media portal, it looks so nice n stuff

i installed that .net 2.0 update also still no luck

btw do u really need windows media player to see the tv? but i dont think that would have ne effect on it detecting channels during scanning..

if the other TV software is still running then it is probably locking the cards and preventing MP accessing them.

You also haven't said if it actually finds any channles. Let us know as this makes a difference.

actuallyyy i had media portal installed before the cinema thing

their was only the drivers for tv card installed and nuttin else then i installed media portal

it scanned radio channels fine but didnt scan any of the tv channels so it finds 000
:/
and i couldnt see any tv then i tryed powercinema to make sure it wasnt the card, and i got pictured with sound n all.
what could be the cause ?
is their a special codec i needed to download before i installed it? or is it faith!

for u.s. based people the zap2it plugin should be your choice for EPG. Please look for the appropriate forum thread for more info.

make sure in setup that you chose the right country and antenna or cable.

there is also a checkbox to sort channels differently (from european style) that you should uncheck, but that will become only important if you get any channels
