I have finally got around to getting Dolby 5.1 sorted and it works great. This outputs via SPDIF to a Sony surround unit. The sound quality is great and I'm really pleased with how it is performing.

I would like to adjust the dynamics of the centre speaker though, to me it seems to have too much 'middle', and I would like to cut it back a bit. I cannot do this on individual speakers with the Sony unit, and I have looked through all the possible settings on the Realtek control panel and it appears that I cannot adjust it individually using the control panel.

Can this be done - is there a bit of software that would allow me to do this? Is there a hidden bit of the control panel I haven't yet found??

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
try the AC3Filter. Normally usage is the Passthrough to let do the receiver the work but you can adjust the most of settings with this great software.

I tried the AC3 Filter and so far have been successful in achieving what I wanted. It really is a versatile bit of software and works really well. The range of features is far in excess of what I wanted, but allows you to adjust pretty much what you need from the AC3 stream
