Hi,

I am enthusiastic about the possibilities of mediaportal and its plugins. Unfortunately, some functions of the package do not work as expected.

The TV-Server shows a black scrren while the sound of the TV-shows is played. Switching channels is possible (only sound). EPG does only work for a few channels though.
Before using mediaportal and setting up the TV-Server I was able to watch TV using the Technisat DVB-Viewer TE2 and its EPG without problems. Now it is dead ( "No free Device found. All capable devices are busy" - apparently mediaportal blocks its access to the card)

How do I get mediaportal to display the TV-program?
I guess I am using the wrong codecs although I have already followed the tutorial for proper codec installation.

In the following a more detailed description of further problems as well as my codec settings:

The VIDEOS section does the follwing for the file types listed below:
avi = Haali Media Splitter Symbol appears in the task bar. Screen stays black, audio works fine
mkv = Haali Media Splitter Symbol appears in the task bar. Video and audio works fine
mpg = Screen stays black, audio works fine
mp4 = Haali Media Splitter Symbol appears in the task bar. Video and audio works fine

Online Videos:
Youtube flv = Video and audio works fine
Youtube mp4 = Video and audio works fine
ARD-Mediathek alle Wetter = Video and audio works fine
ARD-Mediathek Nachrichten flv high quality = Screen stays black, audio works fine
ARD-Mediathek Nachrichten flv low quality = error message
ARD-Mediathek Nachrichten mp4 high quality = time out
ZDF-Mediathek Nachrichten 100sec mms =Screen stays black, audio works fine
SAT 1, Pro7 =Screen stays black, audio works fine

All those pages and videos play nicely and without problems using Firefox or Windows Internet-Explorer

My Media-Portal Settings:
Mediaportal-Version: 1.1.1.0
TV-Server-Version: installed with mediaportal 1.1.1.0
Online-Videos-Version: 0.0.25

As Codec or Splitter I use the following:

Video Codecs:
MPEG-2 Video decoder: ffdshow Video Decoder
H.264 Video Decoder = ffdshow Video Decoder
MPEG / AC3 audio decoder = MPC-MPA Decoder Filter
AAC audio decoder = MPC-MPA Decoder Filter
Audio renderer = Default DirectSound Device

TV Codecs:
MPEG-2 Video Decoder = MPC-MPEG-2 Video Decoder (Gabest)
H.264 Video Decoder = MPC Video Decoder
MPEG / AC3 audio decoder = MPC-MPA Decoder Filter
LATM AAC audio decoder = Divx AAC DEcoder
DD+ audi decoder = ffdshow Audio Decoder
Audio renderer = default DirectSound Device

DVD:
DVD video decoder = ffdshow Video Decoder
DVD audio decoder = MPC-MPA Decoder Filter
Audio renderer = default DirectSound Device
BTW: DVDs play without problems

Video Renderers:
Radio Button "Video Mixing Renderer 9(VMR9)" = checked
Checkbox "Use for playback of web streams (enable OSD menus)" = checked
Checkbox "Use exclusive mode" = checked
Checkbox "Use nonsquare mixing for scaling" = checked
Filtering mode: Gaussian Quad Filtering

Online Videos:
flv = MPC flv Splitter 1.4.2499.0
mp4/m4v/mov = Haali Media Splitter 1.10.262.12
avi = Avi Splitter 6.5.2600.5933 unter C:\windows\system32\quartz.dll
wmv/asf =WM ASF Reader unter C:\windows\system32\quasf.dll

Does anybody know if the problem lies within my Codec settings or if there might be any other problem?

Many thanks for any help you may provide.

Bjoern:D
