Hi Frodo,

I like (all) your products xbmp, xbmc and now Media Portal.

Thanks for your job !!!
I have a suggest for media portal.
I read, Media portal drop support for the 'low budget' cards, but it's interesting to have a option for use a external software for control all basic tv cards.


I think at k!tv or dscaler.
K!tv is best because it implements algorithms of Dscaler and use the plugin - Zoomout for recording (vcr)

Yes, media portal control all card with PVR, and for analogic TV tuner card, why not use K!tv plug-in.

Exemple with myhtpc Downloader myHTPC_EpgK!TvPlugin.

ok, it's always me, i'm happy, Media Portal work fine with my analogic tuner (Hauppauge WinTV PCI card Nicam) .


i have just select and setting in k!tv the wdm driver and no Dscaler, and configure it.
Now in Media Portal, my card work for tv in secam and for recording but it has a litle bug.

After, when i play the movie record, the picture is flip. (Codec Xvid and mp3.)

Look at this

My personal opinion is:
- Make MP stable first and thus concentrate on cards like the PVR 250/350
- In the mean time, if people want to use other TV apps, they should launch them as an external app.

Furthermore I don't think its that easy to integrate another app into MP with its own features that seem to overlap with those of MP.
Maybe a wrapper can be used to "convert" such an app to an MP plugin which in this case could replace the default TV plugin of MP...

Yes of course, that is normal to finish the integration of the cards Tuner PVR. Now, concerning the analogic tuner cards, I think too, that would be well to make it when it will be the moment to do it.

Good News , but i think k!tv is best, it consumes less resources system, and especially the time shifting and the recording function very well (in stereophony) with a quality of recording.
Dscaler is not performent to record compared to zoomout and K!tv.
However the Dscaler drivers are better than the WDM.

you can use ffdshow as de-interlacer. You can even use dscaler in ffdshow to de-interlace...

But to be able to use this I need the Timeshifting as ffdshow needs a mpeg stream? I have currently no possibility to use timeshifting.
