I've been running Media Portal & Beyond TV for some time without problems. I wanted push my CPU up a little to help with some HDTV content in Beyond TV. If I overclock the CPU at all I start to have problems with the Graphic User Interface in Media Portal. Beyond TV works fine as does everything else I run on the system. The UI gets scrambled. I can see small recognizable warped in shape objects but overall it is unrecognizable.

Not sure if this is the best place to post this question. Has anyone else had problems with overclocking and the UI?

Actually do not ever remember seeing a post about overclocking here at all.

    Cool and quiet yes.

Seriously if you are getting those effects, then you are unbalancing your setup, the 2500 was not good at overclocking, unlike the 2800+ which could be done easily.

What I'm really looking for is some kind of explanation of why everything else works fine and it is only Media Portal UI that has a problem with the overclocking. I tried similar overclocking on another AMD system with no problem. the other system is a 2600+. Is anyone familiar with what kind of Graphic calls the Media Portal UI makes to draw the UI? Or any suggestions of where to start looking.

    Off topic, but:
the 2500 was not good at overclocking
You are very wrong. The XP2500+ Barton w/o locked multipliers was a very good OC-er.

nstocke: Strange problem. I am clueless... The XP cores was realy power-hungry, esp. when OC-ed. What brand PSU have you got?
