Overly aggressive file merging by Importer (1 Viewer)

I'm finding that only about 1/4th of my movies show up after MP does an import. The problem appears to be that MP is merging a lot of unrelated files into one movie. In the log, I'm seeing lines like this:

24-Jan-2010 14:15:06 Info [ MovieImporter]: Auto-approved Elizabeth- The Golden Age.720p.mkv, Elizabeth.720p.mkv, Eurotrip.720p.mkv, Extract.720p.mkv, Footloose.ISO as Elizabeth: The Golden Age

and

24-Jan-2010 14:14:59 Info [ MovieImporter]: Auto-approved Angela's Ashes.avi, Angels.and.Demons.Extended.Cut.1080p.mkv as Angela's Ashes

If I select everything and force "split" them, the other files appear.

I have turned off "Always group files in the same folder", but that doesn't make a difference.

This is in MP 1.0.1, downloaded 12/29/2009.
