Hi
this is just a question so don't yell at me!

If I live in Sweden and watch tv(digital dvb-T), should the resolution in MP tv module be 768x576?

I see this in the log and I am curious why it isn't 720x576

2006-10-19 14:12:21.958208 [Info.][5]: PlaneScene: video WxH : 768x576
2006-10-19 14:12:21.958208 [Info.][5]: PlaneScene: video AR : 768:576
2006-10-19 14:12:21.958208 [Info.][5]: PlaneScene: src : (0,0)-(768,576)
2006-10-19 14:12:23.927059 [Info.][5]: planescene: PresentSurface() frame:0 enabled:True allowed:False 768x576

Regards
Lasse

    Sort of, i dont know exactly what those log lines refer to, but there is a few options:

    1. It relates to the buffer size for the video, which can be bigger than the video, however this seems contradicted by the "PlaneScene: src : (0,0)-(768,576)" entry.

    2. The video is being scaled or stretched for display in a window in the Live TV menu. In my logs there is an entry that specifies the destination of the video, what does it say in your case?

    3. Maybe the video is being resized to get the correct aspect ratio? After all 720x576 is 1.25 while 768:576 = 4:3.

    768x576 is the resolution of the DVB-T broadcast. Yes, your desktop resolution have a relevance, mostly if you have a flat tv.

    Yes, desktop resolution has nothing to do with it, but it is relevant .That is if you want to have a nice picture displayed on the tv-set. ;-)

    Interesting, no one answers for over a week, and then as soon as i say something stupid everybody joins in ;)

    There reason i asked about the resolution btw, was because i wanted to know if it was set to a 4:3 or a 16:9 resolution.

    I had no idea that 768x576 was also a PAL resolution, i guess you do learn something new every day.
