Hey I was reading about Pandora stream ripping applications which allow you to rip pandora streams. Google it. Yes, its nasty but I was curious as to its implications for MediaPortal.
Would it be possible to create a pandora application that utilises these programs, ie it caches the pandora streams to mp3 then feeds them to a mp3 player plugin?
You could even skip tracks since the stream header sends 3 tracks at a time. I know its a dirty and haxxored way of doing it, but surely it could work. Doing it this way could also be compatible with Scrobbler as the mp3's are played through a normal mp3 player.
As far as I know, Pandora sends a xml file with the URL of 3 mp3 files. These are played through the pandora browser then after they've played, it requests another set of files.
Running openpandora and the addons, the stream files get saved to a directory in realtime. Which can later be played back in a standard mp3 player.
Come on how hard would that be? I would also suggest to keep things a bit more legit that these streams are automatically deleted after play.
Thoughts?
