Patch XXXX uploaded to SF.net in the tracker adds a feature to allow skipping directories on video database rebuilds if the directory contains a .mp_noautoscan' file.

This was very useful in my setup where I have hundreds of video files for which there is no internet metadata available. Not skipping these directories means mp literally spends 1/2 of its time looking up entries for files which do not actually have metadata available (or not supported in mp as of yet). Examples of these types of media could be large home movie libraries, instructional videos, large cartoon collections, etc..

Enjoy,

crap.. i didnt mean Patch XXXX, i meant Patch 1900454

Apologies,

Unfortunately MP & TVE3 are both in feature freeze mode so it might take a while until the patch is included in SVN.

no problem... As long as they get in the queue I don't really mind. These are more things I'm doing specifically for my use case (i have a > 4000 file media library), but i'll keep generalizing them into features or patches and submitting them... doesn't hurt to offer them up for consideration ;)

Actually... on second thought... it might be best to jump over to the mp-2 board and see where i can start lending a hand there.... :)
