MediaPortal Version: Dear users, I have used the forum's search function extensively but could not find a solution for my problem.

I have been using the latest stable release for a while now and except for major problems in getting the AC3 SPDIF passthrough to work again (which worked flawlessly in the previous releases) I have encountered no problems in daily operation.

That is until yesterday.

That is when I realised that pausing a DivX movie was no longer possible.
I can see the pause icon very briefly but then it immediately disappears and continues playing as if I hit the pause button twice. If I keep the pause button (space bar) depressed I see the video stream stutter but not stop.

I thought it might be a codec problem since I had been fooling around with different codec setups but even after a completely fresh install of MP complete with MPA and MPV codecs the problem persists.

Has anyone of you guys got a clue where this problems has it's roots?

I'm either stupid or blind but I just don't see it.

Many thanks in advance. :D

Welcome to my world! I'm not able to use pause key since 2.0.0. Even in MyMusic and MyTv.
And few other users have the same problem. My solution is to pause from the OSD (Y key, but I'm not sure as I use a remote), that works.

That even weirder! For me 2.0.0. has always worked fine... Even 0.2.2.0 has worked okay for as long as I have it installed... It has suddenly and without provocation started to do this, that's what makes this such a frustrating problem. No one seems to know where it comes from or how to fix it.

AND NO! REINSTALLING XP IS NOT A FIX!!!

Having the same problem here. I've also gotten the impression that it quickly pauses and unpauses, but haven't been able to solve the problem. I tried remapping pause to another button (assuming that maybe there were two similar mappings that cancelled out each other) but that didn't help. It may just be me who made a mistake, so I can't guarantee that this isn't the solution :)

The problem's been there for some time and several uninstalls and upgrades (not a complete uninstall, though).

MP 2.3 RC1 (and TV-server 3) but the problem's been there since 2.2 more or less. Don't recall exactly when it went wrong :)

I have the same problem, it seems to pause then unpause really quickly. After a few tries I can usually get it to stay paused, but its quite annoying!

These are either video\audio driver or codec related, the last pause\play problem was the video\graphics driver being the problem, they reinstalled and things went fine, this also applies to codecs, why they get corrupted god only knows.

Wireless keyboards\mice etc can also cause this, almost like a double keypress, if i install logitech software for my mouse it can do this, unfortunately it can be trial and error to definately locate the problem, and no, logs are useless for this kind of fault.
