PC comes out of hibernate to do a recording MP's home screen loaded, and then everything just freezes, with no response and no log's produced to give a clue.
The only thing to do is power down by on/off button.
This is a new XP install with all MS updates and patches installed.
No problems occur during normal watching/recording.
could this be a driver issue of the TV card, anyone else with this card has it working ok.
Also if i use the MS remote to put XP into hibernate without MP running, no problems and will let me run MP normally. Never had a problem with my lifeview card, hence pointing towards potential driver problem.

Thanks for any help/ideas as i have run out.

I'm also having issues with power scheduler waking up from hibernate (i.e. it doesn't), but if i manually wake it up from hibernate when it should be recording, I land on the main page, it starts recording & then hangs completely. :(

are you guys sure that it is a problem with PowerScheduler?

I don't use PowerScheduler at all and I also have that problem. It appears when I send my PC to sleep from fullscreen TV. After resuming the screen is black and MP hangs ...

    Can you try WITHOUT PoweerScheduler?

We are meanwhile having three or four threads regarding MP's behaviour after standby/hibernation ... I think it's time for the devs/mods to have a serious look into that ...

    thanks+regards

Comes out of hibernate no problem into home screen, as soon as you open TV, MP locks up with no choice but to force a reboot.
looks like this is a symtom that has come in on 0.2 release

let me ask again: did you go directly from FULLSCREEN TV to hibernate?

and: how does it lock? black screen or picture?

    thanks+regards

Yes this is from fullscreen TV to hibernate and, black screen when entering TV after hibernate. Which causes MP and windows to become unresponsive..
Have tried with all plugins disabled, with and without exclusive directX ticked. also 4 different codecs and no difference. The one thing I have not tried is from windowed mode, which i'm gonna do now.
Edit. Same happens MP loads enter TV, black screen and everything locks up.
Also have tried rtv's suggestion of hibernating pc, from within MP (not using remote power button) still the same result.

My circumstances were a little different it seems... I was trying to hibernate from the home screen using the buttons at the top (ie the power button & then selecting hibernate from the list) and when I powered back up it got to the home screen fine, but when I selected MyTV again it would lock up. I wasn't getting a black screen though, I was just getting it locking up where it was (ie on the home screen).

Edit: I just remembered some more info that may be useful... I'm pretty sure every time this happened to me it was currently recording (not 100% sure, i'll do some more definitive testing when i get home). This was because I was trying to get power scheduler working, so I'd set a program to record 30mins or so in the future, hibernate the PC, and wait for it to boot itself. When it didn't, I'd boot it myself, it would land on the home screen & show the record symbol up the top right, but then lock up when I tried to go into MyTV.

Since 0.2 release I've found that restore from S3 suspend is very hit and miss with the system locking, again with no logs generated. This brings down everything including the NIC (cannot ping the box). I have found this is a problem with Powerscheduler (which I never had an issue with in the past) and PVR Scheduler.

I struggle to understand how a change in MP would make the whole system so unstable relating to power management events but I have done nothing else to the system than upgrade MP. Going to try to roll back to RC4+SVN when I get back home (on the road at the moment).

I use a DNTV Live card. I find it happens to me WITHOUT TV playing, usually suspending from the main menu after an idle timeout.

I think you will find that you did have a recording scheduled,
which locks the display up on the home page, which is what brought the fault to my attention. if closed down when in fullscreen TV, you get the black screen. anyway it all points to the TV side causing a problem.

Hopefully one of the Devs will pick up on this quickly.
