Apologies if this problem or a solution to it is posted somewhere (i did search the forum but found nothing).

My issue is with 'PC friendly' DVD's that spawn a window (in the background behind Mediaportal so you can't see it) that say something like "Do you wish to access the PC features on this disc - Yes/No" that actually stop the DVD from playing because you have to minimise/close mediaportal to click 'yes' or 'no'!

With Mediaportal i generally find (especially on newer DVD's) that playing a DVD is never as simple as just putting it in the drawer and pressing 'play'! BTW i'm using Mediaportal's built in DVD player with MPA and MPV codecs.

Does anyone have any suggestions or can tell me what i'm doing wrong?

Thanks

Normally I have no problems playing DVDs.

I have experienced navigation-trouble with some codecs installed (no problem ever using K-lite package - even if these packages are not recommended).

A work around for your setup:

Also, for newer DVD's you need to use a codec with built in handling of DVD decryption. MPV doesn't so use power DVD or WinDVD instead.

Won't help your PC Friendly problem, but may make playing DVD's less of an issue.
