Same situation

Hi raul_toled. I have the same tv card, the PCTV Hybrid Pro PCI.

Yesterday night I tried to use it with the Media Portal Version 0.2.2.0 and I had the same error. I searched if my tv card was supported and I found how to add it. Now I can add the card in the media portal configuration but I have to try it yet :D

I'll tell you my progress.

If you have already made it work please tell me how.

Bye!

P.D. Are you from Spain?

        <connection sourcefilter="tvtuner"		sourcepin="1" sinkfilter="tvaudio"		sinkpin="0"/>
        <connection sourcefilter="tvaudio"		sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="crossbar"		sinkpin="%audiotuner%"/>
        <connection sourcefilter="crossbar"		sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="capture"		sinkpin="0"/>
        <connection sourcefilter="crossbar"		sourcepin="1" sinkfilter="capture"		sinkpin="1"/>
        <connection sourcefilter="capture"		sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="videncoder"	sinkpin="0"/>
        <connection sourcefilter="capture"		sourcepin="2" sinkfilter="audencoder"	sinkpin="0"/>
        <connection sourcefilter="videncoder"	sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="mux"			sinkpin="0"/>
        <connection sourcefilter="audencoder"	sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="mux"			sinkpin="1"/>
      </connections>
    </tv>
  </capturecard>

My problem now is that mediaportal doesn't give an image. It only shows a black screen.

I hope it works or you. Can someone help me fix the black screen problem?

If I put that configuration in CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file, when I try to add the card in MediaPortal Setup -> Television -> Capture Cards I get the error message "Unable to create graph for this device"

Code:
<capturecard commercialname="PCTV Hybrid Pro PCI" capturename="Pinnacle PCTV 310i BDA Digital Capture" devid="ven_1131&dev_7133&subsys_002f11bd&rev_d1">
    <capabilities tv="true" radio="false" mpeg2="true" mce="false" sw="false" bda="true"/>
    <tv>
      <interface cat="capture" video="3" audio="4" mpeg2="1" sectionsandtables="5"/>
      <filters>
        <filter cat="networkprovider"	name="Microsoft DVBT Network Provider"			checkdevice="false"/>
        <filter cat="tunerdevice"		name="Pinnacle PCTV 310i BDA DVBT Tuner"		checkdevice="true"/>
        <filter cat="capture"			name="Pinnacle PCTV 310i BDA Digital Capture"	checkdevice="true"/>
      </filters>
      <connections>
		<connection sourcefilter="networkprovider" sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="tunerdevice"	sinkpin="0"/>
        <connection sourcefilter="tunerdevice"     sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="capture"		sinkpin="0"/>
      </connections>
    </tv>
  </capturecard>

I put this configuration, but it's for the digital part of the tv card and I can't try it because I haven't TDT (Digital TV) yet. With this configuration I don't receive any error message when I add the tv card in media portal setup. I got the information about "devid", video=”pin number” and audio=”pin number” following the guide "Adding a card to the natively supported list".

What should I do to use the analogic part of the tv card? What should I write in the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file? Should I install something in the computer too?

P.D. On Pinnacle Media Center the tv card works fine (the analogic part at least, because I haven't digital television yet :D).

I have continued trying to put the analogic part of my card but I had no luck.

I noticed that MediaPortal requires one of following encoders for the analogic tv cards:

InterVideo Video Encoder
MainConcept MPEG Video Encoder
CyberLink MPEG Video Encoder

I installed the intervideo video encoder following the instructions that I found here but I have the same error "Unable to create graph for this device". I don't know what else I can do :(

Here are the filter names and filter monikers that I have in the graphedit application:

Finally I make it work. For de analogic part I used this code:

Code:
<capturecard commercialname="Pinnacle PCTV 310i Analogue" capturename="Pinnacle PCTV 310i BDA Analog Capture" devid="ven_1131&dev_7133&subsys_002f11bd&rev_d1">
<capabilities tv="true" radio="true" mpeg2="true" mce="false" sw="false" bda="false"/>
<tv>
	<interface cat="mux" video="" audio="" mpeg2="0"/>
	<filters>
		<filter cat="tvtuner" name="Pinnacle PCTV 310i BDA Analog TV Tuner" checkdevice="true"/>
		<filter cat="tvaudio" name="Pinnacle PCTV 310i BDA Analog TV Audio" checkdevice="true"/>
		<filter cat="crossbar" name="Pinnacle PCTV 310i BDA Analog Xbar" checkdevice="true"/>
		<filter cat="capture" name="Pinnacle PCTV 310i BDA Analog Capture" checkdevice="true"/>
		<filter cat="videncoder" name="%videoencoder%" checkdevice="false"/>
		<filter cat="audencoder" name="%audioencoder%" checkdevice="false"/>
		<filter cat="mux" name="%mpegmux%" checkdevice="false"/>
	</filters>
	<connections>
		<connection sourcefilter="tvtuner" sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="crossbar" sinkpin="%tvtuner%"/>
		<connection sourcefilter="tvtuner" sourcepin="1" sinkfilter="tvaudio" sinkpin="0"/>
		<connection sourcefilter="tvaudio" sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="crossbar" sinkpin="%audiotuner%"/>
		<connection sourcefilter="crossbar" sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="capture" sinkpin="0"/>
		<connection sourcefilter="crossbar" sourcepin="1" sinkfilter="capture" sinkpin="1"/>
		<connection sourcefilter="capture" sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="videncoder" sinkpin="0"/>
		<connection sourcefilter="capture" sourcepin="3" sinkfilter="audencoder" sinkpin="0"/>
		<connection sourcefilter="videncoder" sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="mux" sinkpin="0"/>
		<connection sourcefilter="audencoder" sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="mux" sinkpin="1"/>
	</connections>
</tv>
</capturecard>

I hope it can help to others with the same tv card :D

I only have a problem. The first time I start media portal and try to view television it works fine, but if I close media portal and try it again the sound doesn't work :confused:

It goes well for me if I ajust :

Code:
<connection sourcefilter="capture" sourcepin="3" sinkfilter="audencoder" sinkpin="0"/>

into a sourcepin must be 2 instead of a 3 for me.

The only porblem is that my screen stays black and i get no sound. But no could not create graph error anymore.

Please help me!

Some questions...

I changed that ping because otherwise I got the not create graph error. I don't know if I can help you but I'll try :D

Did you installed any MPEG encoder? I suppose that you did it because you haven't any error adding the tv card in media portal.... I installed WinDVR, which have the InterVideo Video Encoder. If you installed another one try installing this...

Have you configured the video encoder in media portal? In my case I choose PAL and medium quality in video and audio.

When you try to autotune the tv card in media portal setup, do you get any channel??

Does the tv card work fine with pinnacle software?

Do you have any error in Mediaportal.log file?

There are many question, maybe one of those can give us a clue..

Bye!

I installed several encoders. changing them doesn't help.

It finds the channels but doesn't show them. Only a black screen.

Does the tv card work fine with pinnacle software?
Yes it does work woth pinnacle software

Do you have any error in Mediaportal.log file?
I have the following error:

2007-01-30 19:05:47.109375 [ERROR][6]: mpeg2:FAILED to create mpeg2 demuxer
2007-01-30 19:05:47.234375 [ERROR][6]: SinkGraph:FAILED could not find mpeg2 demux input pin
2007-01-30 19:06:22.171875 [ERROR][6]: mpeg2:FAILED to render mpeg2demux video out:0x80004003

I hope someone can help.

No idea

Have you tried to change the video decoder in media portal setup? I mean in Television option, where you can choose which decoder use for video and audio.

Could it also be a codecs problem? I have installed CCC pack.

Those are the thing I would try if I were you, but I don't really know what happens :confused:

I hope that someone else can help you better than I.

Bye!
