Hi folks,

I had a quite well working installation with 1.0.0. After upgrade to 1.0.2 I do now have a little stuttering in live TV and sometimes also playing old recordings (made with MP 1.0.0).

I have enhanced with the PCI latency values but without effects.

Any more ideas where I can try to fix that?

thanks in advance and best regards

I seem to be having the same problem too, but only with HD broadcasts worked perfectly before 1.0.2 upgrade, and nothing else changed same codec etc.

Stuuters every 30 seconds or so then every 10 - 15 mins the picture just locks replaying a few frames on a loop, the audio continues ok I have to switch TV off then back on.

I don't have to switch something off. It is just the stuttering of 3-5s in video every 60-120s (audio is ok). Before I increased the PCI latency of the TV cards from 32 to 88, it was more problematic. In the meantime I can live with it, although, its hard to accept that 1.0.0 was better here (no stuttering at all!)

I have read several compliants about stuttering after upgrade from 1.0.0 to 1.0.1 or 1.0.2.
As nearly all of the affected users seem to be quite experienced MP-users, I guess there was a code change that led to this negativ impact.

Is there somebody from the MP development reading this thread?

Thank you Andrew for redirecting to this interesting thread ;-)
Can follow-up this one then, as it seems to be the the same issue.

Hi,
I've also had stuttering problems since the 1.0.0.0 upgrade - it didn't happen straight away though. Also thought that disk noise had increased. Have been cleaning and defragging regularly but that didn't help. So tried turning off a few vista/other services to reduce overhead - now I can't get live TV to show. It does record TV though so have to set up a recording then watch that - odd. Also recordings seem to have lost stutter now.
I did an upgrade to 1.0.2 this morning - has not helped. Does anyone know where there is a list of essential services in a vista system? Am using all PDVD8 codecs
Thanks for the help.

bopfrog,
no idea about Vista (using XP). But you should know that the stuttering we all have after upgrade from 1.0.0 is a result of a code change in the displaying routine in MP, i.e. it has nothing to do with tv server engine or with discs. Can easily be verified when you play the recorded streams with VLC et al.

I too am XP but as a Vista user (I hear) you should be using EVR not VMR9 mode (under DS Filters in MP-config) which may need AERO be switched on as well. You have a GOOD system w/the N9600GT video card and 4GB on the mobo. How is your audio connected? I'm using AC3Filter and SPDIF, although with my new N9500GT I'm passing it via HDMI through my Onkyo 8 series. I don't understand why your LiveTV wouldn't be working, unless it's an issue with admin rights, or the folder you're pointing to for your TimeShift buffer... I use my d: partition for mine and write TV shows to 2 other physical HDDs - one for each ATSC tuner.
