picture in picture (1 Viewer)

I was just curious if anyone had thought about whether it would be possible to do PIP (picture-in-picture) in mediaportal if someone has multiple tuners. Maybe that would be a pretty sweet feature for TV engine 3.

I apologize if this has been discussed already, but I couldn't find it in any searches.

I would also love to have PIP. Rugby and Cricket at the same time with the ability to switch between the large and small picture is great fun!

That's crazy! I typed in Picture-in-picture and PIP in the search I did not see those threads. I guess I'm going blind in my old age.

A question: If I buy a TV tuner card that supports Picture in Picture nativly (like some Pinnacle PCTV cards), does that mean I can "use" this feature while in MP? Thanks!

no. you may have a card that support PIP, but the software has to take advantage of it. Unfortunately MP doesnt have that functionality yet. Anyone with multiple tuner cards, or a tuner card with more than one tuner onboard (PVR500, NVTV dual tuner, etc...) will be able to do picture in picture but only if the software supports it.

there is nothing special about those cards, they do not support PIP natively. However, the Pinnacle software does support PIP. The other cards on that page don't support it because they are not dual tuner cards.
