MediaPortal Version: 0.2.3.0 RC1
Windows Version: Windows XP Home SP2
Memory: 2 GB
Motherboard: Dell
1. TV Card: Pinnacle HD Pro Stick (800e)
1. TV Card Type: ATSC
1. TV Card Driver: 5.7.129

I'm just starting out testing with MediaPortal, I have a Pinnacle HD Pro Stick (800e) tuner. It works with the Pinnacle software, I can view HDTV over the air signals fine. With MediaPortal however I can not get it to recognize the tuner during the configuration. When adding a TV Tuner it comes back immediately with the message "No tuners found". I get the following in my "configuration.log" so it appears to be seeing the tuner at some point:

Pinnacle PCTV HD Pro Stick

I've got the same problem - Media Portal won't detect my tuner. Has anyone found a workaround or resolution to this?

Thanks,

Same problem here.

USB device works fine in the bundled software and in MyTheatre, but MediaPortal cannot see it.

Anybody have advice on how to get it to work?

Thanks,
flatus

Adding this to the capture card config file worked for me:

<capturecard commercialname="Pinnacle 800e" capturename="PCTV 330e/800e BDA Capture" devid="vid_2304&pid_0227">
<capabilities tv="true" radio="false" mpeg2="true" mce="false" sw="false" bda="true"></capabilities>
<tv>
<interface cat="capture" video="2" audio="3" mpeg2="1" sectionsandtables="5"></interface>
<filters>
<filter cat="networkprovider" name="Microsoft ATSC Network Provider" checkdevice="false"></filter>
<filter cat="tunerdevice" name="PCTV 330e/800e BDA TVTuner" checkdevice="true"></filter>
<filter cat="capture" name="PCTV 330e/800e BDA Capture" checkdevice="true"></filter>
</filters>
<connections>
<connection sourcefilter="networkprovider" sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="tunerdevice" sinkpin="0"></connection>
<connection sourcefilter="tunerdevice" sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="capture" sinkpin="0"></connection>
</connections>
</tv>
</capturecard>

That didn't work for me. I see the PCTV 800e device in device manager with the same vid and pid but when I go to 'Add' in the mediaportal configuration app's capture cards dialog it says no tuner cards found. Bummer.

I am having a similar problem. I have a Pinnacle PCTV HD Pro Stick as well, and have started following the directions to setup TVE3 and got as far as configuring the TV Server. It recognizes my tuner (ATSC PCTV 330e/800e BDA TVTuner and Analog PCTV 330e/800e WDM TVTuner). When I go to scan channels with them, it doesn't pick anything up on either of the two tuners. I have cable hooked up to the tuner. I also just installed the driver supplied by Pinnacle for Vista 64 (which is what I have by the way). Any ideas? Obviously, like everyone else, I cannot get MediaPortal itself to recognize the card at all, so I am trying to the TV Server route.

TV Server reports no signal when scanning for ATSC

I've followed the tutorials and installed the TV server from build 17666.

Things flow nicely until I get to scanning for the ATSC channels (with entry ATSC PCTV 330e/800e BDA TVTuner). It scans forever, and finds nothing. I switch to the second tuner listed (Analog PCTV 330e/800e WDM TVTuner) and it finds all kinds of stuff.

The software that comes with the stick works for both HD and analog channels.

FYI: I just found this out somewhere and tried it and it solved the problem. I can now access analog cable channels with my tuner through Windows Media Center (haven't tried other programs, though I'm sure it would solve it).

MainConcept: Demo version

The free demo version just has a small logo in the corner which is hardly noticeable while watching tv.
