Anyone successfully got PCTV stereo work with the tv server?
I tryed, but Its just as stutterish as it were with the original TV plugin.

Even with all quality settings on the lowest.

EDIT: All mediaportal software is latest SVN.

I am in the need of bumping this thread.
Since I got no reply and tryed several reinstalls, i went and bought a Hauppage PVR150MCE Bulk.
And I still have the same problem. Tv is very stutterish, and in the end the whole computer freezes up so I need to hot-restart it. Hence no logs..

I really need help on this, since I am going to build a brand new HTPC for my father in a week, and I was thinking about PVR150 for that computer aswell.

Because I know its supposed to work well with Hauppage cards. I once built a HTPC with PVR500MCE and it was golden with MP.

Are you running MP on the same pc as the tvserver (singleseat)
or is MP on another pc??
We're currently working on improving (remote) clients

I was running a single seat configuration. But now I have uninstalled EVERYTHING mediaportal related, and removed every registry entry manually.

Installed the latest stable release to try again without the TVserver, and TV is yet stutterish. Its almost like MP believes that the card has a software tuner, since Its the same with the Pinnacle PCTV stereo as with the hardware based PVR150.
I dont see any difference.

I have been searching hauppage site for older drivers, but I couldnt find any..

Nothing, only the things explained here: http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/UserGuides/SW-Cards_setup

The only encoder I could make it work with was the intervideo one.
But software encoding requires a "somewhat" fast CPU.

Pentium IV 2.8GHz equivalent or faster CPU

There is something with my configuration of filters/encoders, I fail to get this working. I have a 3GHz CPU, intervideo encoders and MP2 worked kind of OK, so I will probably go back.
Thanks to the reply DarkWader. I had hoped that I could report some success, but I will discuss this problem in other threads.

That is very much the truth, but hardware cards are cheap these days.
And is worth every penny. The time of HDTV are upon us, and HDTV card are not that expensive either.
