How many of you need a client to watch tv over internet, transcoded down to fit the bandwidht?
Scenario 1: from a hotelroom in another country you can watch your local news and native program
Scenario 2: you have a summerhouse with mobile 7,2mbit connection only, no tv reception at all

There must be more scenarios.
This client should look and feel like the real client because wifefriendlyness...

I see placeshifting as something different, and at least for me, even more compelling:

I would like to have a
- "follow me" function within TV, Musik, and Movies. E.g. when I watch a TV show/movie on my TV set in the Livingroom, and then go to my client in the kitchen, I would like to see a function "continue watch Tv from Livingroom" or something like that, or even better:
- populate the TV channel/Song/Film automatically to all clients in the Network.

I believe this has all been sugested as features for MP2.

The original sugestion from Stormer could be handled in a plugin, allowing you to stream TV to a remote client while transcoding it on the fly.

You can already attach a different front end to an existing TV stream in MP joystick.

but thats not quite it, because you always lose the content that you were not seeing while switching places and turning on the stream again.
