"Play Random Episode" Enhancement (1 Viewer)

I was thinking last night it would be really nice if the "Play Random Episode" feature would only choose from the episodes/series/seasons currently filtered. For example, if you were at the top level of the Unwatched view, then it would play a random unwatched episode. If you were at the "Comedy" level of the Genre view, then it would play a random comedy episode. If you were at the season two level of Southpark, it would play a random episode from season two of Southpark. Always filtered by the level you are currently at.

Would this be a hassle to code? It'd be a really nice new feature.

lol. I suppose that would be nice... i don't use play random caus i have like 8000 episodes and i kinda like to know what i am watching... also series are generally made to be viewed in order... but i can appreciate that others might have a need for something like this.

With dramas, I agree there is little reason to watch a random episode, but for shows like The Simpsons, Scrubs, My Name is Earl, etc, it would be really nice. Thats actually kind of the reason I'm suggesting this, some shows I would never want to watch a random episode, but others I do. My suggestion is just a way to create a more flexible filter than "Watch Random Unwatched" which is already in there.

Indeed, I'll have to see how much work it is, but it doubt its very hard. In any case not top priority right now, I'm struggling with some bugs that need to be squeezed first.

When you do get around to that could you add another feature to have it also play another random episode? So you could say go into Simpsons Season 2 and select "Play random episodes" and it would keep picking random episodes one after another till you manually stop it...

Those are all good suggestions, this one in particular wouldn't be hard to implement at all.......but I'm afraid there will be far too many options in the end. I already feel there are too many options in the menu. What I would want is to componitize the torrent and subtitle and all those things so they can be completely disabled because I and I guess many others never use them.

Also new features are good....but right now and in the immediate future I'm focusing on bugsqueezing and core features, performance and error resilliance.

Thats true... personally i dont use the subtitles or the torrent portion at all. I have myUsenet for my news downloads so i dont really need anything in the TVSeries plugin.
