I'm having problems with "Play recording from live point".

    1. I start to watch Channel A and start recording it after a while
    2. I change to Channel B, recording of Channel A continues
    3. I watch Channel B for let's say 10 minutes
    4. I go to EPG and select Channel A program which is still recording
    5. I select "Play recording from live point"
    6. Recording plays fine
    7. Now, if I skip/step recording BACK enough, I see program of Channel B which I watched previously

Is this really how it should work? I mean, I would expect that I'm only watching Channel A recording and no matter where I skip, back or forward, I only see what is broadcasted on Channel A.

UPDATE: Currently, this is not a bug (as confirmed below), but something that I would like to change in the future.

    7. Now, if I skip/step recording BACK enough, I see program of Channel B which I watched previously

TVE3 is using only the timeshifting buffer, so the behaviour is correct.

Ok, I might be missing something here but why does it use timeshift file instead of the recording? :)

Wouldn't be possible to use the actual recording and start playing it from the "live point" so when skipping back, I would only see the recorded program.

I think its more logical to use TS buffer when user choses something from the EPG. Maybe the GUI text should be something like play the program from beginning (instead ofthe recording :))

Okay, I think this has been discussed before (same idea, different topic).

My opinion back then was that a normal user shouldn't have (and has not) any knowledge what's actually happening under the hood. So I was suprised that the buffer is actually used and not the recording.

In my opinion, the correct behaviour would be "Play show/program from beginning" or "Play show/program from live point" where both options would actually use the recording instead of buffer because the selected show/program is the only one which I want to see and not parts of any other channels that I have been watching previously.

This happens quite often when I do the following:

    1. Watching and recording same channel
    2. Commercials start
    3. I change to another channel and watch it for 10 minutes
    4. I change back to channel I was recording&watching (play from live point), commercials have ended 5 minutes ago
    5. I go back only to see the other channel I was watching for 10 minutes

Yes, I know I can do it by selecting "Play recording from beginning" and then skipping forward but still...
