Hello,

I just recorded some broadcastings and usually everything is ok. I can play the recordings well normally.

But I just had two recordings when I wanted to play them, I just got the sound but no video. Other recordings are played well. Has anybody else experienced this? - Any suggestion / solution ?

Got exactly the same problem, the strange thing is, when I play them in VLC player everything is fine. So the recording itself is good.

    I'm using SAF 4.0 (unlocked).

I was wondering if you managed to solve the problem?

Another one with the same problem.
I have a daily schedule for recording a program every day from the same channel.
But some of the recordings only play audio...
The amazing thing is that recently I was able to watch one of them, stopped at the middle and the next day I was unable to continue or watch it again... no video, just audio. And with other recording, the opposite happened: one day didn't played, but the next day it played ok.
I am also using SAF 4.0 unlocked.
    My TV codecs are:
    • MPEG 2 video decoder: MS DTV-DVD video decoder
    • H.264 video decoder: MainConcept AVC/H.264 video decoder
    • MPEG/AC· audio decoder: ffdshow audio decoder
    • LATM AAC audio decoder: Monogram AAC decoder
    • DD+ audio decoder: ffdshow audio decoder
    • Audio renderer: default DirectSound device
    Any idea?

I´m still on Mediaportal 1.1.0.0. I don´t know if it has already been fixed in the ealier releases... Up to now the Problem did not happen again, but it´s still there...

And when I play it in VLC, everything is fine - Same as Blackburn said...

    Hi.

As no solutions seems to have been found, I am attaching a log. The log was obtained with the following steps:
    1. Start MP debug mode without plugins
    2. Go to recorded programs
    3. Play one recorded program: no video, just sound. Then press stop
    4. Play another recorded program: no video, just sound. Then press stop
    5. Play one last recorded program: video and sound ok. Then press stop
    6. Exit MP and collect logs

This happens to me in random chanels and random programs.

Hope any dev could find something interesting...

    same problem here, also 1.1.0
*some* recordings won't play. - but plays fine in VLC.
-when playing these recording in Linux, mplayer plays fine, but logs that some start data in missing, and it's "guessing start data/frames"
-the smallest file I got with this problem is 650MB - but please tell if you wish me to upload it for testing.
-recorded with DigitalEverywhere DVB-S2 at 100% signal strength/quality.
-I also tried different codecs, but that does not make these files play.
    -I am not using SAF.

So we have eliminated codec, and hardware as source of the problems, also, the recorded .TS file seems to have a problem, according to Linux mplayer log, - and recording does not use any codec.

    attached logs containing this:
    -deleted all TV/MP logs
    -started MP
-selected tv recording that causes problem, pressed play. (most recordings (80% of them) would play within one second)
-waited for ~20-30 secs, then audio was played, no video.
    -pressed stop
    -ended MP
    (compressed logs).

    hope you find something interesting.

    ...
The two recordings that would not play were reported as 704x576 at 25p where as the one that would play was 720x576 at 50i (a standard broadcast res)
    ..

For what it's worth, this error also appears in *some* of my wife's "home-and-away" recordings, they are always recorded from the same provider/channel/transponder, so resolution should be the same.
Both playable, and non-playable .ts are reported in Linux/VLC players as 720x576@50 - but then again, others players work, - so if you see areal attempt to play it as 704x576, that might be connected to the problem.
