Hi there! First of all, thanks for this great program!
It's a very impressive media player!
I'm trying to use it with my HTPC, but I'm getting a very weird behavior during playback.
While watching TV, sometimes the playback goes back few minutes in the timeshift buffer without any command to rewind!!!
Do you guys have any clue about this situation???

In the attached logs, this "spontaneous rewind" occurred at 20-04-2010 00:56 AM.
This is driving me nuts, as I can't figure it out!
I have also seen this happen in my computer while playing a tv serie episode or movie...

I would be VERY glad if someone could point me to the right direction...

I once had the same issue due to a very beat up cordless keyboard with weak batteries which was sending random signals (arrow key presses) to the receiver and thus caused random jumping in MP. By cleaning the keyboard and changing new batteries this has not occured again. Also a loose scroll wheel on the mouse might cause these unwanted jumps.

Thanks for the suggestions!
I have a wireless USB mouse attached to the HTPC.
When I get home, I'll try to unplug it and test again!

Hope this solves the problem.

I'll post again as soon as I have any update.

:D

I would also think you may be having problems becuause of IRSS
This needs updating for RC2 (hence your TVServer errors). Not sure if this would also cause you wierd problems like you are seeing.

If you disable IRSS does this still happen?

Also can you attach all logs as it looks like you have chopped the begining of mediaportal.log which could have had some useful entries in.

I'll try to disable the IRSS too.

Before that, I'll try to reproduce the behavior once more. Last night I used the "MediaPortal Debug" laucher, so it grabbed the logs automatically. I think the mediaportal.log is chopped because it creates a new file for each day. And the error occurred at 0:56 AM!
I'll see if I can get new logs though.

When I get back to home I'll test all of this.

    :D for your suggestions!

Well, I think you guys have found my problem!

I updated the IRSS to the version 1.4.2.3496, as found in:
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...ses-ir-server-suite-test-build-1.4.2.3496.zip

But I'm pretty sure that my error was caused by the wireless mouse!!
I've unplugged it and let the live TV running for many hours... And the problem has NOT happened again since this!

I cannot thank you all enough!

I was so sad about this issue that I thought about going from MediaPortal to Windows Media Center!!
    lol :D
    Just kidding...

    Thanks again!
