MediaPortal Version: 1.0.1
MediaPortal Skin: Monochrome 2.8
Windows Version: Vista x64
CPU Type: AMD X2 4850e
HDD: 500GB Samsung Spinpoint
Memory: 4GB DDR2
Motherboard: Gigabyte MA78GM-S2H
Video Card: Onboard
Sound Card: Onboard
TV - HTPC Connection: HDMI
Receiver: Sony SS1300
I have Mediaportal set up with The KMPlayer and it is playing all my DVD back ups and music from across the network perfectly without a problem.
Now I want to get it set up to be able to play DVD-Audio discs in the drive (LG Bluray/HDDVD drive). The only program that I have found that will play the discs is PowerDVD (Version I have is 8), but PowerDVD8 appears to be a load of rubbish crashing every other track on the disc which is rather annoying.
But when playing the disc, the receiver sees it as 2.1 not 5.1. So a couple of questions:
1) Is the receiver not picking up the 5.1 signal over HDMI? (it does for Bluray backups)
2) Is the sound card not sending the right signal through?
3) Are there any other applications that can play DVD-Audio, preferably open-source or free applications?
