Hi All

I have set up movingpictures to play my bluray movies using MPC HDs decoder, because I can’t stand the stuttering in TMT2.

Now I would like to decode trueHD and DTS-HD to analogue outs using the internal player, I’m using ASUS Xonar HDAV 1.3 deluxe. Is it even possible and how do you set it up, and if it is possible can you se what stream is being decoded, so you can make sure it is the lossless track you are hearing?

One small extra question, does any one else have problems playing HD-DVDs, I get an error message that it can’t read the .EVO file.

Best Regards

Chewie

im also without a TrueHD or DTS-HD amp myself and looking to get this working via ffdshow..anyone have any luck decoding them within MP?

ok..looking in a bit more deeply now

ffdshow isnt currently capable of decoding DTS-HD or TrueHD via directshow (im currently using vista) ..there might be some exceptions but as far as i can tell the answer is no

i got TSMuxeR which can extract the different video and audio streams from a blu-ray .m2ts file and put them back together again (removing subtitles and extra language tracks if you want to reduce the size of the movie file)

you will need AnyDVD HD to be able to decrypt the blu-ray movies on the fly when playing the file in MP

TSMuxeR can also downconvert the DTS-HD and TrueHD streams to AC3..which MP is happy to play any day of the week!

the only way to get "pure" HD audio streams like the above mentioned is to get a soudcard which can passthru the audio streams to an amp which can decode DTS-HD or TrueHD ON THE AMP

the only sound card that currently can do this passthru is the Auzentech X-Fi HomeTheater HD (supports HDMI 1.3a bit-stream lossless pass-through) ..and then only with PowerDVD9

short answer is.... just use TSmuxer to downconvert to AC3 and then play the m2ts file in MP!
