I clean booted the system (no standby) and started MediaPortal RC6.
I try to play a recorded TV file ("Ab durch die Hecke"). Normally it's no problem to play this file.
Instead of starting the movie the dialog:

"Abspielen nicht möglich: Ab durch die Hecke - ..."
    Video cdoed: AVC
Audio codec: MPEG AUDIO VERSION ...

    appeared.

I then closed MediaPortal and started GraphStudio and inserted the recorded movie file.
I choose exactly the same codecs, that are used by MediaPortal:

ffdshow Audio Decoder -> Default Direct Sound Device
CyberLink Video Decoder (PDVD10) -> Enhanced Video Renderer

Playing this graph is no problem, audio is streamed over HDMI to the receiver and the picture is visible on the screen.

Trying it again in MediaPortal results in the same error.

    The attached logs say:

2010-07-06 21:46:04.416992 [ERROR][MPMain(1)]: TSReaderPlayer: Exception while creating DShow graph Die COM-Klassenfactory für die Komponente mit CLSID {B9559486-E1BB-45D3-A2A2-9A7AFE49B23F} konnte aufgrund des folgenden Fehlers nicht abgerufen werden: 800700c1.
    2010-07-06 21:46:04.419921 [ERROR][MPMain(1)]: TSReaderPlayer:GetInterfaces() failed

    My translation:
"The COM class factory for the component with CLSID ... could not be called, because of the following error: 800700c1."

The CLSID above is the one from MediaPortal File Reader ("TsReader.ax") as GraphStudio says.

So, why can the file beeing played in GraphStudio and why is there a problem with TsReader.ax, when trying to play the same file in MediaPortal.

I tried playing it again, several times during this life cycle, but MediaPortal stucks always with the same error. The same for other recorded files.

I rebooted the system and now have the following behaviour:

Each time I start MediaPortal, the recorded file does not play (with the error above). But I can switch to Live TV and it plays. Then I can successfully start the recorded file ("Ab durch die Hecke"), and from now on it works, until I close MediaPortal and start it again. Then I have to start LiveTV again ... 100% reproducible.

I will now go back to an older image of my system partition to narrow it down- which change was bringing this error.

    -----

In the meantime I clearly nailed it down to MiniDisplay plugin beeing activated causing the issue.

When MiniDisplay is activated, each new MePo start I have once to play LiveTV beeing able to play a recorded file (otherwise the error from above).

When I disable the MiniDisplay plugin and start MePo I can directly play my recorded file.

I changed several times between active and inactive and everytime the behaviour is reproducible, as described above.

Strange thing happening!!! Beside, the LCD display is working properly with MiniDisplay.

Would can be done?? In the meantime workaround is disabling MiniDisplay.
