How is everyone handeling .ts files? I installed the haali (now matroska) splitter and as long as I rename them *.mkv and they are correct .ts files - it plays ok. Before matroska I could get choppy video / no audio only.. Any thoughts on what you do would be appreciated.

thanks

I unregistered the MPTS.ax filter and now everything works better for me. (MediaPortal TS Source filter)

It seems no matter what I do MP will still use it's own graph to play .ts files. I tried unregistering mpts.ax but it made no difference. If I open a .ts file in graphedit I get the correct graph that I want to use with for example the cyberlink demuxer but as soon as I open it through MP (my movies) it uses the mpeg-2 demultiplexer which I don't want to use, especially not on h.264 content. It seems that even though you open the .ts file from the "my movies" section the "my tv" settings are used. Is there a way to force MP to use a specific splitter or custom graph?

Like you say if you rename the file to .mkv it seems like MP treats it differently but I want my transport streams to be .ts. Where in MP is the mapping between specific file extensions and codecs/graphs done? Any way you can access and change this?

Almost all of the new HDTV channels in europe are broadcasting in h.264. You can download a 30 second h.264 clip (@20.4mbit!) that I recorded during the world cup here. It takes quite a powerful computer to play it back though (something like a P4 3.4ghz or AMD X2 3800+ if you use CoreAVC for example).

(OT: If someone manages to playback this clip perfectly USING HW ACCELERATION (with cyberlink, nero or intervideo decoder for example) please post which gfx card you have. My Geforce 7600GT@650/850Mhz doesn't seem to be able to cope with this particular clip (I get a little stuttering. Too high bitrate I guess) but works perfectly with 1080p trailers from apple for example. With CoreAVC using sw decoding the clip plays perfectly on an AMD X2 4200+.)

Hello blackburn_,

I just started experimenting with my new HTPC with FireDTV tuner.
MediaPortal finds the standard channels, but not the HDTV channels.
The HDTV channels work fine in DVB Viewer.
(after installing CoreAVC and telling DVB Viewer to use that decoder for h.264 channels)
How can I get MediaPortal to detect and show these h.264 channels?
And shouldn't nVidia's PureVideo drivers do the decoding?

After recording Grey's Anatomy for my girlfriend I'll let you know how your .ts file plays on my machine.

Many thanks in advance
