I have gotten MPTv Client up and running with the help of this forum. I can play streams and pause/play in VLC.
I am having trouble, though, understanding how to configure the client so that I can fast-forward, reverse, and change channels. I have done so much searching that my head is spinning. So I would really appreciate some help understanding how to set up and operate VLC with all the potential options (including remote control).
I saw talk that -- by the nature of the rtsp stream -- you can't traverse the stream and do fast-forward's, etc. I saw mentions of 'trickplay,' though am not sure if that fits in here.
I also saw a list of potential rtsp clients at Wikipedia, but couldn't piece together a sense of whether any of these would work with MPTv Client, or how one might go about setting any of them up. Is anyone using a better client than VLC?
And then, how does one go about simply changing channels in VLC?
