Plugin for evening volume? (1 Viewer)

Didnt quite know how to put it, so the Title might be kinda dimm.

What I'm looking for is a plugin that lower/raise the volume of music and videos to an even level. As it is know, some of my videos have lower volume than others (including music files) which results in me jumping off my sofa when I change from video to music due to a major shift in volume.

Does that make any sense?

It's called volume normalization it might be that some codecs support this, but I don't know much more about this topic either..
