Plugins Via Media Portal (1 Viewer)

Instead of having a forum where plugins are stored how about having something within media portal.

Going through My Plugins > Check for new plugins (or something similar) will start a search for the latest plugins (they would have to be uploaded to a server or something) and by selecting one it automatically downloads and installs.

It would also check if there are any new versions of Media Portal and do the necessary upgrades.

Is this possible?

    Hi,

it is on the ToDo, but way up down. ;)

Autmatic update already works, but is only seldom used, for small updates.

Heh thats cool, as long as we can see it in a future release.

The only downside to this would be the amout of extra work it takes, if someone posted their creation in the plugins forums an administrator or moderator of some kind would have to upload it to the place where it can be picked up by media portals across the globe :p

if you ever need any extra help give me a shout

This would also work very well for themes. Where you would be able to hit all the current finished themes and download them within MP. It should show a couple screenshot samples and then you could click on it to download. It would then install, edit the xml for the theme you selected, shutdown and restart with your new theme.

    Just a thought :)
