    Hi Jones,

its all about the codec. Go to MP Config and tell us, which codec for h264 is set.
Try the CoreAVC and PowerDVD10 codec. if you can and then compare the results with your current pic quality.

You can address your problem in the SAF thread, I think those guys can help you much more.

I do not known much about DS player, but i think the problem is DXVA decoder VS software decoder.
You didnt post your HW info, so i think you are using some modern GPU.
SAF using FFDShow DXVA decoder to decode h.264, so if you have DXVA GPU, GPU do the decoding instead of CPU. Maybe you have badly set your GPU drivers - for example, there is a lot of video postprocessing setting on ATI catalyst.

Maybe DS player doesnot have DXVA decoder, so it decode h.264 using CPU only. Thanks to this, your GPU settings doesnot have any effect on picture quality.

    EDIT:
You can confirm this by change MePo video renderer between EVR and VMR9.
If you are on Win7 set it to VMR9, if on XP, set EVR - this will disable h.264 DXVA.
Just make sure you setup it correctly after test.
