DX doesn't support two displays (both using acceleration for 3D, MS limitation) and noth Games & MediaPortal would need it.I'm also a little bit sceptic about how much speed improvements could be archived porting the C# code to C++. I think the most of the performance improvements that can be done to MP is related to MP optimization and not the languages itself. ( and most of the memory usage is caused by skin graphics...)Also, how many memory leaks it will generate when huge amount of C# code is ported to C++?
