I think everyone here knows that the power led of a pc is blinking during standby.

... and i really can't stand it anymore. It is annoying. Especially if the room is dark.

So i am asking if some here has a nice idea how to get a different led "effect" during standby.
Please don't tell to just plug the power led off the mainboard...

I realized that the cases of OrigenAE have the very nice feature that the power led turns from blue to red if the pc enters standby. I would like to know how they did that.

The other thing is that i heard something that it can be possibe to make the power to flash/pulse (not to blink) during standby by the help of a like peace of electronic.

Is there an eletric specialist here around to answer this...

I made a red standby LED and green when on.

Its very easy. It uses a NAND gate and is powered from the +5v standby USB power.

As for the pulse, there are plenty of instructions on the internent already to make your own :)

Hi NewUser, can you post what for items we need and maybe a screenshot? :D

I would like to have a orange one for standby and a blue one for power on.

    thx

    I am interested too.
But i am no electronic engineer. Is it possible to create it with not much electronic know-how?
