I recently downgraded from Vista to XP due to some network adapter issues. Everything is running fairly smoothly except for a couple of problems, one of which is that Power Scheduler no longer manages to shut my machine down at all. This was working fine under Vista.

I've tried various TV Server builds and various Power Scheduler configurations in XP now but get no joy out of it at all. If I have just the TV Server running and not MP and have PS configured in the server, nothing happens. If I configure the PS client plugin and start MP, I get the exception shown below in MediaPortal.log.

Have noticed a couple of posts with similar problems, but the symptoms seem to be different. :(

A possibly related problem I am having is that the despite having the XmlTV plugin configured, TvServer doesn't instigate imports of new tvguide.xml files when they appear in the designated path.

Any suggestions most appreciated!

I have a very simlar problem, the power scheduler intermitently fails to shutdown the pc. I'm using tvengine3-01-07-2008--01-08h--Rev16940 and the same MP svn. The power scheduler config is as follows:

Sever:
Shutown after idel for 20 mins
Wake up server for various events: true
Shutdown Mode: hibernate

Force shutdown: false
Enable extensive log: true
pre-wakeup: 120
pre-no-shutdown: 300
Check interval: 60
Reinit: false
No command set up to run.

Prevent standby when grabbing: false
Wake up system for EPG: 00:58 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday
No command

The following processes wil prevent standby:
SetupTv, Configuration, PowerDVD, iexplore, notepad, comskip

Client:
Only allow stanby when on home screen: true
Enable extensive log: true
Checik interval: 60

Shutdown mode: hiberante
idle timeout: 20mins
Force shutdown: false
Pre-wakeup: 120
Per-no shutdown: 300

I use notepad just to stop the server turning off while I'm not running mp.

I checked that none of these are running, started mp (which went stright to fulscreen tv) and pressed
the power button on my remote which is set to hibernate the machine (it also fails to hibernate when it
should time out on the home screen as well). I tried turning off the only allow standby from home screen
but it dosn't help. The logs of this are attached.

It happened again last night, the machine failed to shutdown after a recording, but this time I'm seeing very similar
net exceptions that jimbojones is getting. Stranger still is that I was tucked up in bed at 00:16 but the power scheduler has detected user activity?
