Messing around with PowerDVD and MP today I almost got it working the way I want completely by chance, almost.
The key is in the fact MP doesn't understand HD-DVD's and you can set PowerDVD to auto play only HD-DVD's and ignore all other file types at least for mounted images in the newest Daemon tools. (I rip all my HD-DVD's to the HD since the X-Box drive is so freaking loud.)
So what happens is that I tell MP to mount the HD-DVD ISO and then PowerDVD starts up and auto plays the image, while MP goes huh and does nothing (exactly what I wanted).
Here is the rub that I can't seem to figure out. MP stays in the foreground and powerdvd plays behind it. I can Alt-Tab it to the front, but I would rather have it just come up in front.
I have set MP to not always be on top and set PowerDVD to be on top all the time, but this has no effect.
I can't think of anything else to try. Any thoughts on this?
The only way I got it to work is by keeping MP as the default DVD player. This is the way I prefer for all regular DVD's.
Thanks,
Mark
