So I've tested in windows power options limiting the processor to 50% and it still plays TV just fine while using less power. I've also set the process priority of mediaportal (TV+client) just above normal so that if any other background processes kick in they don't take priority CPU and you don't feel it. This all works fine, the reason for the request is it would be nice to know that if I'm interacting with the PC I get back the full power available and it only drops when "idling" and fullscreen video (TV, DVD anything). You'd think windows power management would automatically do this, unfortunately the load (30-45%) is just enough that it forces the processor to full speed even thought it doesn't actually need it (as proved by my testing).
