I have sucesfully installed the required programs to run MediaPortal from a TVserver. i.e. SQLserver, Management Studio, Tvserver beta3.0, Media Portal 0.2.2, the latest release of SVN and the Media Portal Plugin. The TVserver recognizes my FloppDTV card and scans successfully all channels (exept FILM1, see the attached very long log file: tv.bak.log, but that is not the main issue). When I try to do a preview in the Tvserever setup channel screen on a FTA channel it comes after a couple of seconds with the error message: Preview Failed:NoAudioVideoDetected and if I look into the attached tv.log file. It looks as if the software times out on a PMT for the selected channel and is not found.

    Hi,
jahopsta, Is this only a problem with preview in TVE3 Setup & does it work within MP?

    Regards

    Hi,

i've got the same problem and many others for over a month now. The developers don't seem to care...
very frustrating to have a useless €250 dvb-c card

You know that TVE3 it's BETA & that the devs do this on their free time?
All bugs will be looked at, but it can take time sometimes & moaning doesn't help. If you have a "cheap" or expensive card the bugs really doesn't mater, all users are importent for MP community ;)

TVE3 has made great progress since it started & all honor to Frodo for that, it's working great for a BETA product..........

    Regards
    Roy

sorry for moaning but the frustrating part is not that it might take two months to solve, but there is no sign of the developers even knowing that this bug exists. I've tried numerous beta's, posted logs etc. and no response at all

For me, it only occurs in a TV Server situation. I have a single seat setup. In MP, with the client plugin, I also get the "no video/audio" popup error after a couple of seconds. In MP, the TV Guide is populated perfectly.

Yesterday, I went back to MP 0.2.2 and there I have no problems. Perfect video, audio and also the TV guide is populated by the DVB-C.

So, my conlusion is that this is no hardware problem but a bug in the beta TV3 Server. Let's hope that the devs pick this up.

I will start a new thread on this with my findings of the last couple of days.

It certainly does not work for me :(

    I’m using ‘tvengine3-04-27-2007--01-22h--Rev14429’ server/client,
    and ‘MediaPortal-svn--04-27-2007--01-00-Rev14429’ SVN build

My setup is with one dedicated server (Win 2003 Server) – and several client pc’s (XP 32bit & Vista 64bit)

On the server I get the ‘no video/audio’ msg – and I also get it on ALL the clients when I try to start live-tv! (is just says ‘My TV – Unable to start timeshifting – No video/audio detected’) – Actually I don’t know why it says ‘thimeshifting’ either!!!

I have tried with FloppyDTV-S, TechonoTrend S2-3200 and Club3D ZapTV860mini – ALL of them the same msg. (have tried for a few days now, with several reboots etc!)
